Your Choice at Nautic Horizons

You can either:

• explore the world’s oceans for six months, or

• join a compact three-month journey

The 3-month program is limited to a maximum of five participants.
Please contact us before applying to check whether there are still spots available for your year group.

Most students take part in the full six-month voyage.

Both options offer an intensive program with hands-on sailing experience, academic classes on board, and authentic cultural exchange.

Detailed Payment Terms

Here is a transparent payment plan to give you a clear overview of the costs in advance:

Participation Fee

The participation fee for this educational program is:

• €26,000 for the 6-month journey (October to April)

• €14,000 for the 3-month journey (October to January or January to April)

This amount covers all essential services necessary to provide you with a comprehensive and unforgettable experience. The 6-month journey is more cost-effective per month since organizational, equipment, and planning costs are spread over a longer period, reducing overall expenses compared to the 3-month trip

Option 1: The 6-Month Journey

Total Cost: €26,000

• Deposit: €6,000 (due upon signing the contract to secure your spot)

• Interim Payment: €8,000 (due at least 12 weeks before departure)

• Final Payment: €12,000 (due at least 6 weeks before departure)

Flexible Payment Option: The final payment can be made in six equal monthly installments of €2,000 (plus 1% interest per month).

Option 2: The 3-Month Journey

Total Cost: €14,000

• Deposit: €4,000 (due upon signing the contract to secure your spot)

• Interim Payment: €5,000 (due at least 12 weeks before departure)

• Final Payment: €5,000 (due at least 6 weeks before departure)

Flexible Payment Option: The final payment can be made in three equal monthly installments of €1,667 (plus 1% interest per month).

• Full Catering: Throughout the journey, meals are provided both on board and during shore excursions. Expect a varied, healthy, and well-balanced diet to keep you energized.

3. High-Level Academic Education

• Educational Program: Our highly qualified teachers provide customized lessons aligned with both German and international education standards, ensuring that you stay academically on track during your journey.

4. Hands-On Nautical Training

• Nautical Courses: Under expert guidance, you’ll receive practical training in navigation, meteorology, and sailing techniques, preparing you for a potential future in the maritime world.

5. Cultural Shore Excursions & Expeditions

• Land Exploration: All accommodations, entrance fees, and organized excursions during shore leave are included, allowing you to immerse yourself in new cultures and gain diverse experiences.

6. Intensive Language Courses

• Language Training: In addition to sailing education, we offer intensive language courses in Central and South America. These lessons enhance both your intercultural skills and language proficiency – a major advantage in today’s globalized world.

7. Ship Operating Costs & Technical Support

• Operational Costs: Your fee covers all ongoing expenses, including fuel, maintenance, port fees, and on-site agent support, ensuring smooth and safe operations throughout the journey.

8. Personal Coaching & Comprehensive Support

• Coaching & Feedback: Beyond technical instruction, personal growth is a major focus. Regular feedback sessions and individual coaching from the captain, teachers, and crew will help you achieve both personal and academic goals.

• Administrative Support: Continuous organizational assistance ensures that everything runs smoothly.

 

Additional Costs to Consider

Regardless of which journey option you choose, you should budget for the following personal expenses:

• Personal spending money for individual purchases

• Vaccinations and medical precautions

• Mandatory international health insurance for all participants

• Travel expenses for arrival and departure to/from Amsterdam

• Potential repatriation costs in case of early trip termination
